nonbuoyant
Nonbuoyant refers to an object or substance that does not float in a fluid, typically a liquid or gas. This occurs when the object's density is greater than the density of the fluid it is placed in. Density is defined as mass per unit volume. If an object is denser than the fluid, the upward buoyant force exerted by the fluid on the object is less than the downward force of gravity acting on the object. Consequently, the object sinks or remains at the bottom of the fluid.
The principle of buoyancy, often described by Archimedes' principle, states that an object submerged in a fluid
