nivell
Nivell is the Catalan noun meaning "level" or "grade." It designates a horizontal plane, a position on a scale, or a stage of development. The word appears in scientific, technical, and everyday language to express relative position, magnitude, or quality, such as the level of water, education level, or degree of similarity. In many contexts, it functions similarly to the English level, or to terms such as tier or rank.
In Romance languages, cognates exist. Spanish uses nivel, and French uses niveau, both with similar meanings
Outside Catalan, nivell may appear in proper names, brand names, or as a loan in multilingual texts.
