Ningxia, officially the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, is a landlocked region in northwest China. Its capital is Yinchuan, and it is one of China’s five autonomous regions, created to recognize the Hui people, a Muslim minority. The region was established as an autonomous region in 1958.
