Common neuro-ophthalmic findings include visual field defects, which can indicate damage to the optic nerve or visual pathways in the brain. Papilledema, swelling of the optic disc, is a significant sign of increased intracranial pressure. Conversely, optic atrophy, a pale appearance of the optic disc, suggests damage to the optic nerve itself. Abnormal pupillary responses, such as a relative afferent pupillary defect (RAPD), can also point to optic nerve dysfunction.

Other neuro-ophthalmic signs might include abnormal eye movements (cranial nerve palsies), nystagmus (involuntary eye movements), or changes in color vision.
