nadmoské

Nadmořská (often written nadmoská in texts that omit diacritics) is an adjective used in Czech and Slovak to describe something relating to altitude above mean sea level. The standard spellings are nadmořská in Czech and nadmorská in Slovak; the unaccented variant appears in non-diacritic contexts.

In geographic and technical usage, nadmořská výška, or elevation, denotes the height of a location or object relative to mean sea level (MSL). This parameter is essential in cartography, geodesy, aviation, meteorology, and urban planning. Elevation is typically measured in meters and referenced to established geodetic systems that relate the Earth’s geoid to MSL. The term can describe terrain features (mountain peaks, plateaus) as well as human-made structures (airports, towers, roads).

Nadmořská výška is distinguished from depth below sea level and from local height references that might use different datums. In practice, elevations can vary slightly depending on the geodetic model and the reference sea level used by a map or instrument.
