nGaedheal
Cumann na nGaedheal, commonly rendered as nGaedheal, was a political party in the Irish Free State from 1923 to 1933. The Gaelic name translates roughly as the Society or Association of the Gaels. It was formed by pro-Treaty members who split from Sinn Féin following the Anglo-Irish Treaty and the subsequent Civil War. The party’s aim was to stabilize the new state, implement treaty provisions, and build enduring state institutions.
