Månedskort, or monthly pass, is a season ticket for public transport that provides unlimited travel within defined geographic zones for one calendar month. It is issued by regional transport authorities and is commonly used by commuters, students and others who travel regularly within the network.

The pass covers services offered by participating operators, such as buses, trams, subways and regional trains, within the selected zones. The exact coverage depends on the chosen zone configuration, and the pass is valid from the first day to the last day of the month (some systems use a 30-day period).

Månedskort can be obtained as a digital ticket through a mobile app or as a physical card or paper ticket. Digital passes are stored in the transport provider’s app or a mobile wallet and activated upon purchase or first use. Tickets are checked by validators or conductors when traveling.

Pricing is based on the number of zones and on passenger category; adult, student, senior and sometimes child rates exist. Discounts may apply for students, seniors, or multi-month purchases, and some areas offer special versions such as family or group passes.

Use rules: the holder must carry proof of eligibility and present the card or display the digital pass when requested. The month is non-transferable and generally non-refundable after the month begins; physical cards can sometimes be replaced if lost or stolen, and digital passes can be recovered through the account.

Not all regions accept passes outside their zones, so travelers should verify coverage. Changes in price and terms occur periodically by the issuing authority.
