Munkákat, also known as the Munkács region, is a historical and geographical area located in the northeastern part of present-day Slovakia. The region has a rich history that dates back to the Middle Ages. It was first mentioned in historical records in the 13th century and was part of the Kingdom of Hungary until the end of World War I in 1918. After the war, the region became part of Czechoslovakia, and later, after the dissolution of Czechoslovakia in 1993, it became part of the independent state of Slovakia.
