Mugulatele is a theoretical concept in ecology describing a stable triadic mutualistic interaction among three species that yields greater collective benefit than any two-species combination. In this framework, the members engage in complementary services and byproduct exchanges that enhance each other’s resource uptake, survival, or reproduction, producing a persistent network of cooperation under certain environmental conditions.

The term mugulatele was coined in ecological thought experiments and subsequent simulations in the early 2010s to denote a three-way mutualism that cannot be reduced to simple pairwise interactions.
