Mootoritolipump, commonly referred to as a motor oil pump, is a vital component within an internal combustion engine's lubrication system. Its primary function is to circulate lubricating oil throughout the engine, ensuring that moving parts are adequately lubricated. This lubrication is crucial for reducing friction, preventing wear, and dissipating heat generated by the engine's operation.

The motor oil pump is typically driven by the engine's crankshaft or camshaft, either directly or through a timing chain or belt. This ensures that the pump operates whenever the engine is running. The pump draws oil from the oil sump, which is the reservoir at the bottom of the engine, and forces it under pressure through an oil filter and then into the engine's various oil passages. The pressure generated by the pump is monitored by an oil pressure sensor, which alerts the driver if the pressure drops to a dangerous level.
