Monomeeriühik is an Estonian term that translates to "monomer unit" in English. It refers to the fundamental repeating structural unit of a polymer. Polymers are large molecules, or macromolecules, composed of many repeating subunits. These subunits are called monomers. When monomers chemically bond together in a long chain, they form a polymer. The monomeeriühik is the individual building block that makes up the entire polymer structure.
The properties of a polymer are largely determined by the type of monomeeriühik it is composed of
