A mondatfajta refers to the classification of sentences based on their purpose or function. A kérdő mondat is used to ask a question. It often begins with a question word or uses a specific intonation pattern and concludes with a question mark. Examples include "What is your name?" or "Did you finish your homework?"

A felkiáltó mondat expresses strong emotion, surprise, or excitement. It is often characterized by an exclamation mark at the end. Sentences like "What a beautiful day!" or "I can't believe it!" fall into this category.

A felszólító mondat is employed to give a command, make a request, or offer advice. It usually ends with an exclamation mark or a period. Examples are "Close the door." or "Please be quiet." Understanding these sentence types is fundamental to constructing grammatically correct and functionally appropriate utterances in Hungarian.
