Modulációok refers to the plural form of "moduláció" in Hungarian, which translates to modulation in English. Modulation is a process used in telecommunications and signal processing to encode information onto a carrier signal. This is typically done by varying one or more properties of the carrier wave, such as its amplitude, frequency, or phase, in accordance with the information signal.

The fundamental purpose of modulation is to adapt an information-bearing signal, often a baseband signal, to the characteristics of a transmission medium or channel. For instance, baseband signals often have frequencies too low to be efficiently transmitted over long distances through the air. By modulating a high-frequency carrier wave with the baseband signal, the resulting modulated signal can be transmitted effectively.

Different types of modulation exist, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. Amplitude modulation (AM) varies the amplitude of the carrier wave. Frequency modulation (FM) varies the frequency of the carrier wave. Phase modulation (PM) varies the phase of the carrier wave. More complex schemes, like quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM), combine variations in amplitude and phase to achieve higher data rates. The choice of modulation technique depends on factors such as the desired data rate, bandwidth availability, noise immunity, and the complexity of the transmitter and receiver circuitry.
