modulaatioprosentti
Modulaatioprosentti, often translated as depth of modulation, is a parameter used in signal processing and radio engineering to describe how strongly a carrier signal is modulated by an information signal. It expresses the extent of variation in the carrier’s amplitude (or, in some contexts, other properties) caused by the modulating signal. In practice it indicates how much the envelope of the modulated wave fluctuates due to the information content.
For a carrier with peak amplitude Ac and a sinusoidal modulating signal with peak amplitude Am, the
In conventional amplitude modulation (AM), the modulation depth is a key design parameter. A modulation percentage
