microvasculáris
Microvasculáris refers to the smallest blood vessels in the body, collectively known as the microcirculation. This intricate network includes capillaries, arterioles, and venules. Capillaries are the most numerous and smallest, with walls only one cell thick, facilitating the exchange of oxygen, nutrients, and waste products between the blood and surrounding tissues. Arterioles are small arteries that branch into capillaries, regulating blood flow into these tiny vessels through vasoconstriction and vasodilation. Venules are small veins that collect blood from capillaries and merge into larger veins. The microvasculature plays a critical role in maintaining tissue health, regulating blood pressure, and mediating inflammatory responses. Diseases affecting the microvasculature, such as microvascular disease, can lead to a range of health problems including organ damage and impaired healing. Conditions like diabetes and hypertension are significant contributors to microvascular damage.
