Mesokoloneihin is the Finnish illative plural form of mesokolon, referring to the mesocolon or its attachments to the colon. The mesocolon is a peritoneal fold that suspends portions of the large intestine from the posterior abdominal wall and contains blood vessels, lymphatics, and nerves. The colon is organized into several mesocolons: the transverse mesocolon, the sigmoid mesocolon, and, to varying degrees, the mesocolons of the ascending and descending colon, which may be short or partially absent because those sections are often retroperitoneal.
