Membránrendszerhez refers to a complex network of membranes within eukaryotic cells. This interconnected system plays a crucial role in the synthesis, modification, sorting, and transport of proteins and lipids. The primary components of the endomembrane system include the endoplasmic reticulum (both rough and smooth), the Golgi apparatus, lysosomes, vacuoles, and the plasma membrane.

The endoplasmic reticulum is a network of sacs and tubules where protein synthesis and lipid metabolism occur. The rough endoplasmic reticulum, studded with ribosomes, is involved in the synthesis and modification of proteins destined for secretion or insertion into membranes. The smooth endoplasmic reticulum, lacking ribosomes, is responsible for lipid synthesis, detoxification, and calcium storage.

The Golgi apparatus, a stack of flattened membrane-bound sacs, receives proteins and lipids from the endoplasmic reticulum. Here, these molecules are further modified, sorted, and packaged into vesicles for transport to their final destinations within or outside the cell. Lysosomes are membrane-bound organelles containing hydrolytic enzymes that break down waste materials and cellular debris. Vacuoles, particularly prominent in plant cells, serve various functions including storage, waste disposal, protection, and growth. The plasma membrane encloses the cell and regulates the passage of substances into and out of the cell, also participating in cell signaling and adhesion. Together, these components form a dynamic and integrated system essential for cellular function and organization.
