Meistriliiga is the top professional football league in Estonia. It was founded in 1992 and is currently contested by ten clubs. The league operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Esiliiga, the second tier of Estonian football. The winner of the Meistriliiga qualifies for the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League. The second and third-placed teams qualify for the UEFA Europa Conference League, along with the winner of the Estonian Cup. The team finishing in last place is relegated to the Esiliiga, and the second-to-last team enters a play-off against the second-placed team from the Esiliiga.

FC Flora Tallinn is the most successful club in Meistriliiga history, having won numerous titles. Other prominent clubs include Levadia Tallinn and Kalju Nõmme. The league has seen a growth in professionalism and quality over the years, attracting a following both domestically and internationally. The competition is known for its competitive nature, often with title races decided on the final day of the season.
