makaa
Makaa is a term used in reference to a Cameroonian ethnic group and their language. In ethnographic and linguistic literature, Makaa denotes the Makaa people, who inhabit regions in Cameroon, particularly in forested areas of the central and eastern parts of the country. The Makaa language, also referred to as Makaa, is a Niger-Congo language spoken by these communities. Because of differing scholarly classifications, Makaa is described in some sources as part of the Makaa–Njem group or within broader Benue-Congo or Central Niger-Congo subgroups; classification can vary between sources.
The language has several dialects and is used in everyday communication as well as traditional oral literature.
