Lymfoomassa is not a widely recognized term in contemporary medical nomenclature. In many sources it appears as an informal or regional label for a mass associated with the lymphatic system, or as a misspelling or variant of other terms such as lymphoma mass or lymph node mass. Because it is not standardized, its precise meaning can vary between authors and languages.

In practice, the term may be used to describe a lump or swelling that involves lymphoid tissue, but it is not, by itself, a defined medical diagnosis. If a clinician encounters a mass that could be related to the lymphatic system, they will rely on established terminology and diagnostic workups to determine the cause. Common categories of lymphoid masses include benign reactive lymphadenopathy, infectious or inflammatory nodes, autoimmune-related enlargements, lymphomas (Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin), and metastases from other cancers.

Evaluation typically starts with a detailed history and physical exam, followed by imaging such as ultrasound for superficial masses and CT or MRI for deeper lesions. PET-CT may be used for staging in suspected lymphoma. Definitive diagnosis requires tissue sampling, usually through core needle or excisional biopsy, with histopathology and, if needed, immunophenotyping and molecular studies.

Management depends on the underlying diagnosis. Benign reactive nodes may be observed or treated for the underlying infection, while lymphoma or metastatic masses require disease-specific therapy. Prognosis varies widely with the etiology and stage.
