Lymfknottransplantation, also known as lymph node transfer or lymph node grafting, is a surgical procedure investigated for its potential to treat lymphedema. Lymphedema is a chronic condition characterized by swelling, typically in the arms or legs, caused by damage or dysfunction of the lymphatic system. This system is responsible for draining excess fluid and waste products from the body's tissues. When the lymphatic system is impaired, fluid can accumulate, leading to swelling, discomfort, and an increased risk of infection.

The principle behind lymph node transplantation is to introduce healthy lymph nodes, usually harvested from another part of the patient's body (autologous transplant), to the affected area. The hope is that these transplanted nodes will integrate into the existing lymphatic system, re-establish lymphatic drainage, and reduce swelling.
