This uncontrolled air movement can occur through cracks, gaps, or openings in the building's structure, such as in walls, roofs, floors, windows, and doors.

Achieving good lufttätet is a crucial aspect of modern building design and construction, particularly in energy-efficient buildings. An airtight building envelope significantly reduces heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer, leading to lower energy consumption for heating and cooling.
