Liukunivelit, also known as synovial joints, are the most common type of joint in the mammalian body. They are characterized by the presence of a fluid-filled cavity called the synovial cavity, which is enclosed by a capsule. This cavity contains synovial fluid, a viscous substance that lubricates the joint, reduces friction between the articulating bones, and provides nourishment to the articular cartilage. The capsule surrounding the synovial cavity is composed of an outer fibrous layer and an inner synovial membrane.
