A lipoblast is a precursor cell to a fat cell, also known as an adipocyte. These cells originate from undifferentiated mesenchymal stem cells, which are multipotent stem cells found in bone marrow and other tissues. Under the influence of specific signaling molecules, mesenchymal stem cells can differentiate into various cell types, including lipoblasts.
