Liikennevirasto, meaning the Finnish Transport Agency, was a Finnish government agency responsible for the planning, construction, maintenance and safety of the country’s national transport infrastructure. Its remit covered the road and rail networks and encompassed related investment coordination and project implementation to promote efficient and safe transport. The agency operated under the Ministry of Transport and Communications and acted as a central authority for national transport planning, infrastructure development and safety standards.

During its existence, Liikennevirasto carried out tasks such as planning and procurement for major road and rail projects, maintaining the state-owned transport network, and overseeing various safety-related aspects of transport infrastructure. The agency aimed to support reliable mobility, economic activity and accessibility across Finland.

In 2019, as part of a government reform to streamline transport and communications administration, Liikennevirasto was merged into Traficom, the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency. From 2020 onward, Traficom took over the responsibilities previously held by Liikennevirasto, integrating them with other functions arising from the consolidation of transport and communications governance. Liikennevirasto existed from its establishment in 2010 until the merger into Traficom.
