Lidealismo is a philosophical concept that emphasizes the primacy of ideas, consciousness, or mind over matter. It proposes that reality is fundamentally mental or spiritual, and that the physical world is either a manifestation of these mental constructs or is dependent on them for its existence. There are various forms of idealism, including subjective idealism, which asserts that reality is dependent on the individual mind, and objective idealism, which suggests that reality is grounded in a universal or absolute mind.

Different idealist philosophers have offered distinct interpretations of this core idea. Some argue that objects only exist insofar as they are perceived by a mind, a notion famously associated with George Berkeley. Others, like Immanuel Kant, proposed a transcendental idealism where the mind actively structures our experience of the world through innate categories, meaning we can never know the "thing-in-itself" independent of our perception. Hegelian idealism, a highly influential system, posits that reality is the unfolding of a dialectical process driven by a World Spirit or Absolute Idea.

Idealism stands in contrast to materialism, which asserts that only matter is real, and to dualism, which posits both mind and matter as distinct fundamental substances. The implications of idealism extend to epistemology (how we know things), metaphysics (the nature of reality), and even ethics and aesthetics, influencing how we understand knowledge, existence, and value.
