Lekesone is a small municipality situated in the northern part of the Czech Republic, within the administrative district of Jičín. The settlement lies on the western slopes of the Krkonoše Mountains, at an elevation of approximately 650 metres above sea level. Its territory covers roughly 12 square kilometres and includes the hamlets of Chodov and Dolní Polom.

The first written record of Lekesone dates to 1354, when it appears in a royal charter as a minor feudal holding. During the Late Middle Ages the village grew around a centre of textile manufacture, a tradition that continued into the 18th century. The 19th century saw the establishment of a small ironworks that employed most of the local population until its closure in the 1930s.

Contemporary Lekesone is primarily residential, with a population of about 1,200 people. The local economy is sustained by agriculture, forestry and tourism. The surrounding hills provide popular routes for hikers and cross-country skiers. A cultural festival, held annually in late July, celebrates the village’s folk music and traditional crafts.

Leketone’s architecture features a mixture of timber-framed wooden houses and stone farm buildings typical of the Bohemian region. The central church, built in 1786, is an example of Baroque ecclesiastical architecture and houses a 17th‑century altar. The village’s history and scenic environment have attracted researchers and visitors, as documented in regional historical journals and travel guides.
