This creates a circulating current, known as a convection current, which effectively distributes heat throughout the fluid. Examples include boiling water and the circulation of air in a room.

Radiation is the transfer of heat through electromagnetic waves, such as infrared radiation. Unlike conduction and convection, radiation does not require a medium to travel and can occur through a vacuum. All objects with a temperature above absolute zero emit thermal radiation. The sun's heat reaching Earth is a prime example of heat transfer by radiation.
