Küllastus is an Estonian term that translates to saturation or full capacity. For example, a saturated solution is one that contains the maximum amount of solute that can be dissolved at a specific temperature and pressure. Adding more solute to a saturated solution will typically result in the excess solute remaining undissolved.

Beyond this point, any additional water will drain away. In the context of materials, saturation can describe a state where a material has absorbed the maximum amount of a liquid or gas it can hold.
