Käyttöturvallisuustiedote, often abbreviated as KTT, is a Finnish term that translates to "safety data sheet" or SDS in English. It is a document that provides comprehensive information about a hazardous chemical substance or mixture. The primary purpose of a KTT is to ensure the safe handling, storage, use, and disposal of chemicals in the workplace.

Käyttöturvallisuustiedotteet are legally required for hazardous substances and mixtures placed on the market. They are designed to inform workers, employers, and emergency responders about the potential hazards associated with a chemical and the necessary precautions to take. The information contained within a KTT is crucial for risk assessment and the development of appropriate safety measures.

The content of a KTT is standardized and typically includes 16 sections as per the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS). These sections cover identification of the substance/mixture and the company, hazard identification, composition/information on ingredients, first-aid measures, fire-fighting measures, accidental release measures, handling and storage, exposure controls/personal protection, physical and chemical properties, stability and reactivity, toxicological information, ecological information, disposal considerations, transport information, regulatory information, and other information.

In Finland, the responsibility for providing and making KTTs available lies with the supplier of the chemical. Employers are then obligated to ensure that these documents are accessible to their employees who may be exposed to the chemical. This ensures that everyone involved in the chemical's lifecycle has the necessary knowledge to work safely and respond effectively in case of an incident.
