Kvantumhálózati, also known as quantum networking, refers to the development of communication networks that utilize the principles of quantum mechanics to transmit and process information. Unlike classical networks that rely on bits representing either 0 or 1, quantum networks use qubits, which can exist in multiple states simultaneously due to superposition. This allows for fundamentally different capabilities, such as enhanced security through quantum key distribution (QKD) and the potential for distributed quantum computing.

The core components of a quantum network include quantum repeaters, which are necessary to overcome signal loss over long distances, and interfaces that can convert quantum information into a format suitable for transmission through optical fibers or free space. Entanglement, a phenomenon where two or more qubits become linked and share the same fate regardless of distance, plays a crucial role in many quantum network protocols, enabling secure communication and distributed quantum operations.

Research in quantum networking is progressing rapidly, with various experimental networks being established globally.
