Kvanttiavaruusnäytöt, also known as quantum space displays or quantum dot displays, represent a cutting-edge display technology that leverages quantum dots to produce vibrant and energy-efficient images. Quantum dots are semiconductor nanocrystals that emit light of a specific color when excited by a light source. The color emitted is precisely controlled by the size of the quantum dot, allowing for a wider and more accurate color spectrum compared to traditional display technologies.

In a typical quantum dot display, a backlight, often an LED, emits blue light. This light then passes through a layer containing red and green quantum dots. The quantum dots absorb the blue light and re-emit it as pure red and green light. These red and green light components are then combined with the remaining blue light to create the full spectrum of colors seen on the screen. This process results in significantly enhanced color saturation, brightness, and contrast.

The advantages of quantum dot displays include their ability to reproduce a broader range of colors, leading to more lifelike and immersive visuals. They are also more energy-efficient than many conventional displays, as the quantum dots convert light more effectively.
