Kuparihappo, also known as copper sulfate or cupric sulfate, is an inorganic chemical compound with the formula CuSO4. It is a salt of copper and sulfuric acid. In its pure form, it typically appears as a bright blue crystalline solid. This characteristic blue color is a result of the presence of hydrated copper(II) ions.

Kuparihappo is soluble in water, forming acidic solutions. It readily absorbs moisture from the air, a property known as hygroscopicity. When heated, hydrated kuparihappo loses its water molecules and turns into a white anhydrous powder. This dehydration process is reversible; adding water to the anhydrous form will restore its blue color.

Historically, kuparihappo has found a wide range of applications. It has been used as a fungicide and algaecide in agriculture and aquaculture to control the growth of unwanted organisms in crops and water bodies. In laboratories, it serves as a common reagent in various chemical experiments and analyses.
