Kuivadel is a geographic term used to describe a dry valley in arid and semi-arid landscapes. In these valleys, the valley floor carries little or no perennial surface water for most of the year, and channels are typically ephemeral, flowing only after intense rainfall or snowmelt. The term is used in geomorphology to distinguish dry-valley systems from valley floors that sustain year-round streams.
