koronárna
Koronárna refers to the coronary arteries, which are blood vessels that supply oxygen-rich blood to the heart muscle itself. These arteries originate from the aorta, the main artery leaving the left ventricle of the heart. The two main coronary arteries are the right coronary artery and the left main coronary artery. The left main coronary artery then branches into the left anterior descending artery and the left circumflex artery. Blockages or narrowing within these arteries, often due to the buildup of plaque (atherosclerosis), can restrict blood flow to the heart muscle, leading to conditions like angina or a heart attack. Medical interventions for coronary artery disease include lifestyle changes, medications, angioplasty with stenting, and coronary artery bypass surgery. The health of the coronary arteries is crucial for maintaining the continuous function of the heart.
