The korakoidiprosessi, also known as the coracoid process, is a hook-like bony projection extending from the superior and anterior aspect of the scapula, or shoulder blade. It is a prominent anatomical landmark that plays a crucial role in shoulder joint function.

Originating from the superior border of the scapula, the coracoid process curves forward and laterally. Its structure can be described as beak-like. This bony projection serves as an attachment point for several important muscles and ligaments of the shoulder girdle. The coracobrachialis muscle originates from its tip, while the short head of the biceps brachii also attaches here. The coracoacromial ligament forms an arch with the acromion, superior to the glenohumeral joint, and the coracoclavicular ligaments, consisting of the conoid and trapezoid ligaments, connect the coracoid process to the clavicle.

The coracoid process contributes to the stability of the shoulder joint and is involved in the movement of the arm. Its presence also protects the underlying neurovascular structures and the superior aspect of the glenohumeral joint. Fractures of the coracoid process are relatively uncommon and typically result from direct trauma or avulsion injuries.
