The stones are stacked in a specific pattern, with each layer offset from the one below to create a stable and even surface. This pattern is repeated until the desired height is reached, typically ranging from 10 to 20 centimeters.

Once the stones are stacked, a layer of sand is spread over the top to insulate the heat and prevent the stones from becoming too hot to touch. The sauna stove is then placed on top of the stones, and the sauna can be built around it.
