Kontinentilaamaga refers to the continental margin, the underwater region that extends from the edge of a continent to the deep ocean floor. The continental rise is a gently sloping accumulation of sediments at the base of the continental slope. It is formed by the deposition of sediment that has been transported down the slope, often by turbidity currents. The continental rise acts as a buffer zone between the steep slope and the flat, deep ocean floor. Together, these three components form the continental margin, a geologically significant area that plays a crucial role in marine ecosystems and the distribution of marine resources.
