Konformációváltozások refers to the changes in the three-dimensional shape of a molecule. These changes occur due to rotation around single bonds within the molecule. Different spatial arrangements of atoms in a molecule that can be interconverted by rotation around single bonds are called conformers or conformational isomers. These rotations are generally unimpeded, meaning that molecules can readily switch between different conformers at room temperature. The energy differences between various conformers are typically small.
Conformational changes are crucial in many biological and chemical processes. For example, the function of proteins
