kohteella

Kohteella is the adessive form of the Finnish noun kohde, meaning target or object. In Finnish grammar, the adessive case (ending in -lla or -llä) marks location on or at something, as well as, in some contexts, a means or accompaniment. Kohteella therefore translates roughly to “on the target,” “at the target,” or “with the target,” depending on the context.

In use, kohteella typically denotes location relative to a physical surface or site, such as something resting

Common contexts include technical descriptions, scientific reporting, or procedural instructions where the target object is central

Examples (illustrative, not exhaustive): “Kamera on kohteella kuvaushetkellä.” “Mittaus suoritettiin kohteella.” “Kohteella sijaitsevat mittauslaitteet rekisteröivät signaalin.”
