It refers to a name that is not allowed to be given to a child according to Finnish naming laws and regulations. The purpose of these restrictions is to protect the child and to maintain societal norms regarding naming practices. Finnish law prohibits names that are offensive, could cause harm or distress to the child, or are clearly intended to be humorous or absurd. Additionally, names that are too similar to existing given names, or that could be mistaken for a surname, may also be rejected. When parents propose a name for their child, it is submitted for approval.
