kiadsz

Kiadsz is a constructed language created for a worldbuilding project set in the fictional Asteria region. It is the native tongue of the Kiadi people who inhabit the western archipelago in the Asterin Sea. Linguists place Kiadsz in the Kiadic branch of the fictional Asteran language family, and it serves as a central marker of Kiadi identity and culture.

Phonology and writing: Kiadsz has a modest consonant inventory including p, t, k, m, n, s, z, l, r, and a glottal stop, with vowels i, e, a, o, u. Stress is typically on the penultimate syllable. The writing system, Kiadscript, is a syllabary-like alphabet with diacritics indicating vowel length and pitch.

Grammar: Kiadsz is primarily analytic with a subject–verb–object word order, though discourse topics can be fronted. Nouns lack case marking; plurality is expressed by a suffix such as -in.
