Changes in consumer income are a primary driver; for normal goods, an increase in income leads to an increase in demand, while for inferior goods, demand decreases as income rises. Consumer preferences and tastes also play a crucial role, with shifts in fashion, trends, or advertising impacting demand. The prices of related goods are another significant factor. If the price of a substitute good (one that can be used in place of another) increases, the demand for the original good will likely rise.
