Katalízist, or catalysis, is a process in which the rate of a chemical reaction is increased by a substance known as a catalyst. Catalysts are not consumed by the reaction and can be used repeatedly. The primary role of a catalyst is to lower the activation energy required for a reaction, enabling it to proceed more quickly and efficiently.
