Joffre is a French surname. The most famous bearer is Joseph Jacques Césaire Joffre, commonly known as Marshal Joffre. Born January 2, 1852, in Rivesaltes, he pursued a military career in the French army, training at the École spéciale militaire de Saint-Cyr and serving in various posts, including campaigns in Africa and the Franco-Prussian War.
