jedí

Jedí is the third person plural present tense form of the Czech verb jíst, meaning to eat. It is used when the subject is plural, such as oni or ony, or when the subject is understood to be they. For example: Oni jedí jablka. Co jedí k obědu?

Conjugation and usage. The present tense forms of jíst are jím, jíš, jí, jíme, jíte, jedí. The verb is irregular and shows a vowel alternation in the stem across different persons. It takes direct objects in the accusative, and its usage is common in everyday speech and writing to describe eating in the present.
