jasmonaten
Jasmonates are a class of plant hormones involved in regulating various physiological processes. They are synthesized from lipids via the lipoxygenase pathway in response to biotic and abiotic stresses, such as herbivore feeding, pathogen infection, or mechanical wounding. Jasmonates play key roles in plant defense, including the induction of antimicrobial compounds and structural defenses, as well as in growth regulation, such as controlling leaf senescence and flower development. Research on jasmonate biosynthesis and signaling pathways has informed strategies to enhance crop resilience to pests and environmental challenges.
