Izomsorvadások, also known as muscle atrophy, refers to the wasting or thinning of muscle tissue. This condition can occur for several reasons, leading to decreased muscle mass, strength, and function.

One primary cause of izomsorvadások is disuse. When muscles are not regularly used, such as during prolonged periods of immobility due to illness, injury, or sedentary lifestyles, they begin to break down. The body perceives these unused muscles as unnecessary and reabsorbs their components. Another significant cause is neurological damage. Treatment strategies focus on addressing the underlying cause and may involve physical therapy, exercise, nutritional support, and medical interventions.
