Isikukoodi is a unique personal identification code used in Estonia. It is a 11-digit number assigned to every Estonian citizen at birth or upon naturalization. The code serves multiple purposes, including identifying individuals for administrative, financial, and legal purposes.

The first digit of the isikukoodi indicates the individual's gender and the century of birth. For example, numbers 1-4 are used for males born in the 19th century, while numbers 3 and 4 are used for females born in the 20th century. The following five digits represent the date of birth in the format DDMMM, where DD is the day and MM is the month. The next three digits are a sequential number assigned to distinguish individuals born on the same day. The final digit is a check digit used to verify the validity of the code.
