Integrálelméletet refers to the Hungarian term for integral theory. This branch of mathematics deals with the concept of integration, which is a fundamental operation in calculus. It is the inverse operation of differentiation. Integration is used to find the area under a curve, the volume of solids, and to solve a wide range of problems in physics, engineering, economics, and other fields.

There are two main types of integrals: indefinite and definite. An indefinite integral, also known as an antiderivative, represents a family of functions whose derivative is the integrand. A definite integral, on the other hand, calculates a specific numerical value, often representing the accumulated change or the area between a function's graph and the x-axis over a given interval.

The development of integral calculus is largely credited to Isaac Newton and Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz in the 17th century. Their work established the fundamental theorem of calculus, which links differentiation and integration, providing a powerful tool for solving complex problems. Over time, integral theory has evolved with the introduction of various integration techniques, such as substitution, integration by parts, and partial fractions, as well as more abstract concepts like Lebesgue integration. These advancements have expanded the applicability and rigor of integral theory.
